Mothers Day Project

HI Everyone!!

Just wanted to post a little something I've been working on.  I first saw this on Pinterest and knew immediately that I had to make this.  I love taking pictures of my Kids and Family and knew this would be the perfect Mothers Day gift.  I was amazed at how easy they were to make!!!

First I purchased the terracotta pots at Walmart. Painted them white (two coats).  Let them dry and then I began adhering the pictures using Mod Podge.  That simple!!!!  I then brushed a thin coat on top of the pictures with the Mod Podge and let dry....  I printed out all the pictures in black and white in the wallet size.  It took approximately 16 pictures to cover the 8inch pots.  I then sprayed the pots with clear acrylic spray and that's all she wrote!!!!      PERFECT!!! I am soooooo pleased at how they turned out.  I hope all the Mothers in my life love them.......thanks for stopping by hope you like!!!
Now to figure out what to plant in them!!!!!  flowers or a plant?????

If you just happened to find my blog, thank-you so much. However, so you don't miss awesome projects or the chance to win blog candy, you will want to start at the beginning at http://mincedpaper.blogspot.com.

Now on to my project: For this hop I created a banner for my Cousin Linda's Surprise Retirement party. Party colors were Pink, Black and white zebra print.  Here she is Very Surprised !!!!

It reads "Congrats on your retirement Linda"

I used the Arts Philosophy cartridge to make all my cuts for the banner, oval center and flowers (I wrote down all the sizes but misplaced it and since I made this the night before the party--LOL it's all a blur!!!  I can't remember the sizes

My pictures didn't come out that great...the banner was very glittery/sparkely. I embossed the center ovals with my cuttlebug "Swiss Dots"

The swirls are from a pack of stickers that I purchased at Michaels

Hope you like it!!!!  Enjoy the rest of your HOP!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Easter Fun "CASCARONES"

Just wanted to share a few non paper crafts that we worked on for Easter.... well I guess the eggs can be considered paper craft since there was confetti in them.  LOL

My Daughter Briana and my Son Luke  colored most of these in the first picture.

Every Easter since I can remember we have made these "Cascarones" or "Confetti eggs".  You start off by making a small hole on the tip of the egg, shake out the raw egg, rinse the egg shell & let dry.  We start collecting these eggs at the beginning of lent.  Anytime you use eggs in a recipe or just eat scrambled eggs you do this.  All of our family does this so by the time Easter is here we have many dozens.  We then color these eggs by hand with crayons or pencils We never dip in food coloring..don't know why...this is the way my grandma always did them.. Once they are all colored we fill them with confetti cover the tip with tissue paper so the confetti doesn't come out.  On Easter they all get passed out and the fun begins!!!!   Everyone runs around cracking them on each others head!  Its suppose to be some sign of good luck or something!! LOL  Don't really know what's lucky about getting cracked in the head with a hard eggshell !! LOL --but it is fun --Its just not Easter without them....my kids enjoy it!!

We had over 20 + dozens of eggs!!!!  It was fun but the clean up was not!!

Now on to my project.....

Today I made a very simple layout.  I have been soooo busy this month running my 3 kids around to their softball &
baseball practices its been really hard for me to make anything!!!!  If I could only use my cricut in the car I'd be
good to go!!!  Wouldn't that be great ---open up my rear hatch and sit in the back while I wait for 2 hrs to pass!!!!
Battery operated cricut!!   Hmmmm   oh well  here is what I made..

A scrapbook page for my daughter I used Sports Mania and Best of 2008...I cut the the Softball player at 4 inches
from the Sports Mania cart and the ball and bat from Best of 2008 which originally came from the baseball cart..
I purchased the paper from a little shop last year and unfortunately its closed now.  Love the paper with the word softball
printed on it.

I used lime green colored paper since my daughters team colors are
lime green, black and white....
I used purple for the bat since that's one of her favorite colors...

My stamp is from "My Creative Time"  I love this stamp set
all softball..

Thanks for stopping by---now on to your next stop Vickie M
